Graduation Day 2017

As the festive season draws closer, the IGSN family gathered for its highlight of the year. On December 8, 2017, researchers and staff, as well as friends and family came together on Graduation Day to honor this year’s graduates, who had completed the IGSN program and would finally receive their PhDs in Neuroscience.

Advisory Board Meeting

The day began with a meeting of the Advisory Board, a welcome occasion for all members to catch up and reflect on the past year and to plan for upcoming projects. The festivities were then begun by the warm welcome of the speaker of the IGSN Prof. Dr. Ulf Eysel. As is the tradition, current IGSN PhD researchers presented their current work to the audience. Their presentations illustrated the high standard of work being done at the IGSN and the diversity of topics tackled by young scientists. Thank you, Zohre Azimi, Meng Gao, Francois Pauzin, Daniel Terheyden-Keighley for your excellent talks – great job!

IGSN Poster Prize

This year the IGSN awarded a poster prize for the best poster of a doctoral researcher. A jury of young researchers took over the task to find the best IGSN poster. All PhD researchers presented their projects to the jury in a three minutes presentation and answered the questions of the jury members. The 2017 Poster Prize went to Ms Noemi Rook from the department of Biopsychology for her poster “Intrinsic connectivity of the hippocampal formation of pigeons: an in vitro tracing study”. The IGSN will nominate Noemi’s poster for the FENS poster prize 2018, that will be awarded at the FENS meeting in Berlin 2018.
